Lavender Earl Grey Blended Latte

This amazing drink was inspired by the Thug Kitchen cookbook. They have so many amazing recipes and I learned a TON from them when I first started out in my own “thug kitchen.”

Lavender Earl Grey Blended Latte

Honestly, they had me at Earl Grey! I’m such a fan of this Chinese Tea (what, you thought it was British?) that I’m hard-pressed to not try any and every recipe I see that features it. Thug Kitchen recommends pairing it with their Almond Chocolate Chip cookie. With the added lavender in my recipe, I think a croissant would be amazing with it. Beware, it’s a cold drink, so don’t think you’ll be snuggling up with this one.

Serves: 2 Cooking Time: 2 hours

Ingredients

  • 2 cups alternative milk (or milk if you like that)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 pouches of Lavender Earl Grey Tea
  • 1 tbsp. of agave or honey
  • 1 frozen banana cut into chunks
  • 1 cup of ice cubes (6 cubes)

Instructions

1

Put the milk and water into a saucepan and heat over medium-high heat. When it begins to simmer, turn off the heat and add the tea bags. Steep for 8-12 minutes depending on how you like the strength

2

Pull the bags after the allotted time and put the tea into a container to refrigerate for 1-2 hours. Before you cool it, stir in your sweetener. I do this cuz it's really annoying and difficult to stir honey into an iced beverage—it's a whole thang

3

When you're ready to try this delightful creation pull the chilled tea from your fridge. Pop it into a blender with the frozen banana chunks and ice cubes. Blend on high until the banana and ice are pureed.

4

This will make roughly 16 oz.

Notes

**For some reason I have better consistency when I use a single serving size blender cup as opposed to the large ones.
